West Palm Beach has the highest population in Palm Beach County. In 2010, the estimated population was close to a million people. West Palm Beach was incorporated in 1894, making it the oldest incorporated municipality in the county.

Look for numerous Mission revival houses in Prospect Park.

Whether you enjoy fishing or golfing, whether you like night clubs or theatre performances, West Palm Beach caters to all its residents and visitors. Besides miles of beautiful, white sandy beaches, popular attractions in West Palm Beach include: the Lion Country Safari, Peanut Island, the Norton Museum, and the Palm Beach County Convention Center. In addition, the Harriet and the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts both host music, dance, and theatre performances.

Other popular attractions include Clematis Street which is a historic shopping district in West Palm Beach and the location of Clematis by Night, a food and live music event.

West Palm Beach has a significant number of postsecondary schools including: Palm Beach Atlantic University, Lincoln College of Technology, Florida Culinary Institute, and Northwood University. In addition, Bak Middle School of the Arts accepts middle school students from all over Palm Beach.
